Checkout thoughtpolice web site, where they have most Linux distributions available for you to import into VMware. They have an image section providing support information relating to the Linux distribution, as well as a HOWTO section where they describe using the various VMware tools.
I kind of don't get it. All of these distros are readily available, and are easily installed into a clean VM with the VM configuration and package profile that _you_ want as opposed to what someone else has decided you should have.
Perhaps I'm just too much the geek - I'd no sooner use someone's Linux image than I would someone's Windows image.
