VCP5-Infrastructure as a Service - Mock Exam

The VMware Certified Professional 5 – Infrastructure as a Service (VCP5-IaaS) validates your ability to install, configure and administer a Cloud environment using vCloud Director and related components. Achieving this certification demonstrates your understanding of basic cloud concepts including public/private/hybrid clouds, multi-tenancy and cloud security, as well as your skills in using vCloud Director to create and manage vApps, service catalogs, and organization/provider VDCs, as well as administering cloud enabled networking and storage.

The VCP5-Infrastructure as a Service - Mock Exam is a practice exam. NOTE: A score of 100% will prevent re-taking the exam. It is recommended that you answer one known item with an incorrect choice to keep your score just under 100%.

Eric Sloof is awarded as VMware Instructor of the Quarter

Eric Sloof has received the VMware Certified Instructor Certificate of Achievement Award. The EMEA VCI of the Quarter Award recognises outstanding VMware Certified Instructors from the EMEA region who share their expertise about VMware technologies with others.

The status of VCI of the Quarter Award is retained for three months. In this time award recipients may refer to themselves as VCI of the quarter and also benefit from the privileges that are part of program. A prize chosen by VMware Education Services is awarded to the winners.

Eric has delivered 14 different training courses ranging from “VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager: Install, Configure” to “VMware vCloud: Deploy and Manage the VMware Cloud” but also “VMware View: Install, Configure,”

He has written over 50 articles related to VMware and Cloud Computing which were all published at his high ranging website NTPRO.NL. He has also recorded several well received instruction videos and was rewarded by VMware with the vExpert title. At the Belgium VMUG he has presented a well-received “Mythbusting” session for a great audience.

Eric participated in several beta certification programs like VCP-IaaS and VACP5-DCA. He also participated in the beta of the new release of vSphere and vCloud Director. He has also written 4 submissions the upcoming VMworld 2012 events in San Francisco and Barcelona. Eric will co-present OPS-CIM1775 - VMware vCenter Operations Customers Come Forward to “Tell Their Story” at the VMworld in Barcelona.

In the past three months, Eric has recorded several well received instruction videos on how to manage and configure vCloud Director and manage load balancing. These videos were made available through the trainer community and iTunes. Eric has also posted his delivery findings of one of the first “VMware vCloud: Deploy and Manage the VMware” training courses - which could help other instructors.

The VMware vCloud Director Fundamentals [V1.5] training is a self-paced 3 1/2 hours course which introduces students to the components, architecture, functions, and benefits of vCloud Director. The course consists of the following self-paced modules:

VMware vCloud Director Overview: In this module, you will learn about cloud and cloud implementations.
VMware vCloud Director Architecture and Components: This module provides an overview of vCloud Director components, illustrates the vCloud Director architecture, defines vCloud Director component functions, and describes how VMware vShield Edge and VMware vCenter Chargeback are integrated with vCloud Director.
VMware vCloud Director Installation and Configuration: In this module, you will review vCloud Director components and learn about the prerequisites for vCloud Director installation. You will also learn about the procedure to install and configure vCloud Director. Additionally, you will learn about the post-installation steps.
VMware vCloud Director Administration: This module covers vCloud Director administration tasks, which include how to create and manage organizations, catalogs, cells, users, roles, and compute resources.
Network Administration in VMware vCloud Director: In this module, you will learn about vCloud Director network administration tasks such as creating and managing different types of networks. You will also learn about the requirements and constraints of different types of network pools.

Free e-learning course - VMware vCenter Operations Manager Fundamentals

This e-learning course covers how to install and configure vCenter Operations Manager as well as how to use its many robust features.

VMware vCenter Operations Manager is an automated operations management solution that provides integrated performance, capacity, and configuration management for highly virtualized and cloud infrastructure. Deep VMware vSphere integration provides the most comprehensive management of VMware environments. VMware vCenter Operations Manager is purpose-built for VMware administrators to more effectively manage the performance of their VMware environments as they move to the private cloud.

The course consists of five modules:

Technical Overview of vCenter Operations Manager covers the vCenter Operations Manager 5.0 vApp architecture and resource requirements, the vCenter Operations Manager 5.0 vApp installation considerations, and introduces you to the major and minor badges.
Installing and Configuring vCenter Operations Manager discusses how to install and configure vCenter Operations Manager.
