I was invited by Scott Herold to join the Virtualization PowerShell community night. Scott has been working with Carter Shanklin on planning such a night in Cannes during VMworld Europe 2009. It was an open discussion on Virtualization and PowerShell and how we can continue to drive and keep this combination of technologies at the forefront of virtualization management.
Scott also told more about today’s launch of the VESI EcoShell which is community intended to be organized around a new freeware application called the Virtualization EcoShell. The Virtualization EcoShell will enable any level of virtualization administrator to take advantage of PowerShell capabilities provided by Microsoft and virtualization vendors through a customizable, consolidated graphical interface. Virtualization experts will be able to further make use of the flexibility provided by a powerful scripting engine and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to customize administrative tasks specific to their organization’s needs.
