This morning I posted an article about the Yankee Group report regarding the comparison between Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 (Longhorn) and VMware ESX. This report contains a lot of errors and is pulled from the Yankee Group site to be reworked. But why is the report still available at the Microsoft website ?

It was published just before the start of VMworld Europe. I encountered the same problem with a post about it at my BLOG. I noticed the Yankee group report was available through the Microsoft Virtualization Blog and made an entry about it. Just after VMworld I received a mail from VMware with a link to the reaction from VMware on the report and of course mentioned it in a new post.
Indeed strange that the report still is available at Microsoft. Evenmore if you know that the report explicitly states that it is based on independend sources and that content has been verified with all parties.
Just to let you know you were not the only one who suffered from this. Greets Gerben
