āVMware VI3 Implementation and Administrationā a must read for every VMware enthusiast
As an experienced VMware Certified instructor, Iām involved in delivering VMware courses on a daily basis. I know how important it is to keep your students involved in a course. When you start reading this book, I can assure you, you will read it from A to Z. In the past three years Iāve seen lots of books. Eric Siebert did a great job with this one. He was able to write up topics varying from āinstallingā and āadvanced configurationā in a clear and understandable way and put them together in this book.

Reviewing Eric Siebertās upcoming book
Iām was one of the of the lucky bloggers who was asked to review Eric Siebertās new book, VMware VI3 Implementation and Administration.
This book was written to cover all the various phases of implementing a virtualization project using VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 from the very initial planning stages all the way through designing, building, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and more. VMware has made it fairly easy to install and use their virtualization products but thereās a lot you need to know to properly setup your environment and to understand how everything works including the differences between physical and virtual servers. This book will walk you through the various stages and provide you with information and tips to guide you through them so you make informed decisions, utilize best practices and avoid common mistakes.

"This book will teach how install and configure VMware's Site Recovery Manager product. It also covers in detail the failover and failback processes - and I will guide you through step-by-step through the setup of the product. This book is not filled with project management padding that typifies a lot of IT books. It's practical and technical, and assumes you are already pretty familiar with VMware's Virtual Infrastructure products including ESX 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5. In this book you will learn the strengths and weakness of the Site Recovery Manager product, and show you the common pitfalls and errors that can happen, and also more importantly why they happen, and how to fix them."
Update : Mike did it again, another Four Free Chapters from the Vi3Book are online.
